I’m currently living through my Saturn Return while living on my Saturn Ascendant line in Europe (meaning Saturn’s on my physical body, and my sense of self.)
Let me tell you, it hasn’t been easy…
I left Europe for a few weeks to plan my Relocation Certification launch. But the MINUTE my plane landed I felt so restricted, fearful, drained, and sleepy. I even realized I was overthinking things all day — hello Saturn on the Ascendant angle.
My husband and I decided to road trip to Germany (a three-hour drive from my Saturn astrocartography line) to explore quaint little German towns and visit my favorite Sun Uranus paran line/latitude crossing.
I lived on this Sun Uranus paran for two years with the Sun and Uranus trine exactly within zero degrees. Driving up to this paran line feels much more inspiring, invigorating, authentic, inventive, resourceful, and leadership-oriented.
Returning to my Saturn line during a difficult Saturn Return transit gave me empathy and compassion for anyone living on their Saturn lines, Pluto lines, or Mars lines during malefic squares, oppositions, or returns.
I feel for you, I really do.
I’m in the middle of my Saturn Return living on my Saturn line — I don’t want to feel this physically anymore and I’m planning to leave as soon as possible. But that doesn’t mean you can’t help mitigate the heavy Saturn energy…
How To Survive On A Saturn Line During a Saturn Transit in Astrocartography
My tips for working with Saturn energy?
Go on 30 30-minute drive or decide to base yourself on a different paran line for a couple of days. I’ve found that traveling to different latitudes has helped mitigate this Saturnian energy.

Confused about paran lines? You can learn more about what these latitude lines are in my free astrocartography guide here! Don’t make the same mistake that so many people make by not looking at those visible latitude lines (note: you can’t see them on Astro.com)!
Did it completely eliminate the effects of Saturn? No, not at all.
I still feel this sense of time, or the clock ticking, and that every decision I make has a consequence. Every choice I make has long-term effects. There’s a sense of restriction in my thoughts, an issue with overthinking everything, and being afraid to take action.
You can’t change your timing, but you can put yourself in better environments — this is why locational astrology matters. I’ll use astrocartography for the rest of my life because I wholeheartedly believe in its wisdom and power!
For whatever reason, I still feel called to visit my Saturn Midheaven line at some point during my Saturn Return. The reason I mention this is because you must follow your inner voice, first. If you see a hard transit or a “difficult” astrocartography line on your map, but you feel called to be there, there’s a good reason.
Honor your intuition, and trust your inner voice, regardless of what the maps and transits say.
My intuition’s been urging me to leave my Saturn Ascendent line right now. I understand it’s probably better not to be on my Saturn Ascendant line during a difficult Saturn Return. I already know this intuitively.
Living On A Saturn Line During A Saturn Transit
So you may be wondering, “What should I do if I’m on a Saturn line and going through a Saturn transit?”
If you’ve got a heavily afflicted Saturn — I’m talking Saturn oppositions, Saturn squares, or Saturn returns — get the work done, build the systems, put the structures in place, lay the sturdy foundations within your life, healthy habits, routines and any plans for your future.
For instance, I’m setting up structures in my business like email marketing, building my team, and attending to taxes/trademarks/copyrights/legal contracts. I’m working with a lawyer and an accountant to prepare for the next growth cycle of my business.
I’m going deep, setting the foundations of my life now, while I’m on this Saturn astrocartography line. This is the best way to constructively use Saturnian energy to your benefit.
The other thing I’m focusing on is time, and what really matters to me.
One of the things I love to do is make content on Instagramand YouTube reels. I have tons of fun with content creation, but right now I feel like it’s not the best use of my time or energy. I need to think about the long-game. What can I do today that will have lasting effects 10 years from now? Such a Saturnian thing to say!
Saturn Line Journal Prompts
A few great questions to ask yourself, and journal about, when living on a Saturn line during a difficult Saturn Return?
☽ What’s the best use of my time and energy?
☽ What do I want the big picture of my life to look like?
☽ What’s most important and what needs to get done now?
☽ What doubts, limiting beliefs, or self-sabotaging tendencies need my attention?
If you find that you’re often distracted by little things, scrolling on social media, or over-indulging in video games on a Saturn line during a Saturn transit, it’s beneficial to get clear on whether this is the best use of your time.
Remember, Saturn doesn’t do well with escapism, Saturn likes structure.
Another piece of Saturnian advice — embrace responsibility.
As someone who just wants to have fun, I totally understand how restrictive this feels, but there’s something really beautiful about embracing discipline.
Embrace the work, and responsibility with open arms, whether it’s taking care of your kids/family or stepping into a mature leadership role in your business. Saturn astrocartography lines are lovely for being an authoritative presence or leader in your line of work since Saturn embodies an older, knowledgeable, more mature energy of life.
One of the things that helped me a lot was reading books on stoicism, finding ways to be less reactive and emotional, and seeing things from a non-biased, nonreactive lens. Reading books on philosophy, meditating, and being in solitude helps tremendously….
As much as I love my husband (he’s my favorite person in the world) I’ve noticed that during my Saturn Return, I require more alone time. It has nothing to do with him or our marriage and everything to do with Saturn on my Ascendant.
How To Move Through Saturnian Seriousness
For those of you living on Saturn lines, going through Saturn transit Saturn returns opposition squares — I feel for you.
If you’re going through depression, feeling isolated, lonely, cold, or blocked, have compassion for yourself. Know that you’re never alone, lots of people are experiencing this, and please reach out to your community or friends for support.
Allow time for childlike play, joy, and fun during your Saturn transit with breathwork, dance, music, running, or any form of movement. That’s something I constantly have to remind myself of right now since I’m usually such a joyful, childlike person. I’ve been way too serious, restricted, and uptight.
Get out of that Saturnian seriousness, and into a more joyful childlike state if possible. Move any stagnant energy!
I hope this blog feels supportive for you if you’re struggling on a Saturn astrocartography line during a Saturn transit, kindred spirit — you got this.
