How To Use Planetary Days To Live Each Day More Intentionally
The cosmos want to help you and work with you. Today we’re specifically talking about how to use planetary days to be more efficient, intentional, and productive each day of the week.
Before I get too far ahead, let’s answer the question —
What are planetary days?
Planetary days describe how certain days of the week are connected with the archetypes of specific planets. Knowing this, we can use each planet’s distinct energy and work in harmony with the cosmos on different days of our week.
So without further ado, let’s jump into the planets, the days they rule, and how you can live in flow with each planet!
Solar Sunday
Sunday is a very solar energy. It’s extroverted because it’s ruled by the Sun. Think vibrant, social Leo.
Sunday’s are playful, fun, creative, and extroverted days. It’s a great day to get outside, bathe in the sun, be active and play sports, enjoy lighthearted hobbies, or hike through nature. When I think of Solar Sundays, I think of social Leo who adores connecting with friends and family, being in the public eye, and infusing child-like enthusiasm into everything they do.
Contrary to how we usually view Sundays, this is also a lovely day to launch a project, work on a creative project, express yourself, launch something new in your business, or let yourself be SEEN.
Moon Monday
Monday’s ruled by the Moon. The moon represents feminine energy, so think soft, gentle Cancerian energy.
Mondays are for rest, contemplation, meditation, and reflection. I repeat — Mondays are a day to go slow.
(I’ve always said that if the world lived according to the stars, Monday and Sunday would be the weekends, and Saturday would be a work day because Monday’s just a day we naturally feel the need to be gentle, soft, and kind to ourselves.)
It’s the best day for self-care, doing slow movements like yin-yoga or stretching, and taking a slow walk in nature. Flow state writing is another wonderful activity to do on Mondays — it’s easier to get into a meditative state, connect to your intuition, and feel your emotions. Mondays are wonderful for shadow work, too.
Oh, and you could meal prep for your week, as the moon is closely connected to food and bodily functions.
Tuesday Mars Day
Tuesday is ruled by the planet Mars. Totally opposite energy of the Moon, Mars is assertive, masculine, ambitious, and productive. Hey, Aries energy.
If Tuesday had a mantra it would be “Get it DONE.”
Tuesdays are for saying no to people (Mars loves to sever and cut things off). Need to put up boundaries with someone, or say no to something? Tuesday’s the day.
It’s great to get rid of things, be honest with yourself, and declutter your house, possessions, responsibilities, or the non-essential things on your to-do list. Other things that match the energy of Tuesdays are high-intensity workouts, going for a run, and getting your blood pumping while kickboxing.
Heads up — Mars tends to overdo things. So be careful to avoid injuries when exercising, and also be cautious of rage, anger, and frustration.
Mercurial Wednesday
Wednesdays are ruled by Mercury, embodying the intellect, and communication.
Wednesdays are for freedom, fluidity, open-mindedness, flexibility, and adaptability. It’s a perfect day for speaking, writing, studying, researching, and getting ahead on your schoolwork.
Mercury is the messenger, the spokesperson,
You may feel hyper-chatty, which makes sense because Mercury is a very mental and verbal sign. So catch up with your friends, send extra-long voice messages to your people, or sell and market yourself on Instagram stories.
Lastly, Wednesdays are an amazing day to start, and implement, new habits into your life!
Jupiter Thursday
I LOVE Thursdays, they’re one of my favorite days of the week because it’s ruled by Jupiter!
It’s the infectious, positive Sagittarius energy that I just can’t get enough of.
Because Thursdays embody the energy of the planet Jupiter, they’re brimming with optimism, expansiveness, fun, and positivity.
You may want to plan things long-term thanks to that visionary Jupiter energy. It’s also a great day for spiritual growth, spirituality, connecting with higher learning, enlightenment, learning about religion, and philosophy.
(If you’re traveling internationally — leaving on a Thursday would be magical.)
If you’re not taking a long-distance trip you can research foreign cultures or plan future trips to new countries and locations you’ve never been before. Use this visionary day to boost new projects, engage in new courses, record, film, speak, and teach.
Venusian Friday
Friday is the day of Venus. It’s a feminine, creative, gentle day of the week.
Friday is a beautiful opportunity to pamper yourself. Venus loves to practice self-care, but on a more outward level — try new hairstyles, indulge in your beauty routine, go shopping, and organize your wardrobe. Anything that creates more pleasure and beauty in your life is encouraged on Fridays.
While you’re painting your nails or trying a new hairstyle, remember to invest financially (Venus also rules money) journal, and reflect on the most valuable, precious aspects of your life. Venus is closely connect to values and possessions.
It’s great to get in front of the camera, spritz on some perfume, and take some cute pictures. I find I’m more connected with my body and my creativity on Fridays.
Saturnian Saturday
Saturday is Saturn’s day. Probably one of the most important days of the week, as Saturn is the disciplinary and challenger.
Saturdays are a more mature energy. It’s the energy thatforces you to get the things done that need to get done, but you don’t necessarily want to get done…
This is the day to get ahead on work, dedicate time to admin, respond to emails, grocery shop, do your taxes or finally get to the chores you don’t want to do. Contrary to how we view Saturdays, this is the day for monotonous tasks.
Saturn craves preparation, maturity, and responsibility. I see it like that dad or the grandpa who’s always nagging you to be a responsible adult (we all have one of those family members, don’t we?)
Use Saturdays to get your not-so-favorite tasks done — you’ll be so grateful you did because social, extroverted Sunday is just around the corner.
To be honest, I’ve observed and recorded the data of how I feel every day in my journals, and I’ve noticed an insane correlation between the planetary energy of the day versus how I’m feeling.
I work with the planetary day energies in my own life. But I also always eave space to intuitively feel what comes up for me, so I can flow with my daily rhythm, my daily energy, and what my heart/body is guiding me to do.
Using astrology and planetary days is a magical way to invite more structure and intention into our day-to-day lives. And I can’t help but marvel at the interconnectedness of the cosmos and the planets — everything is unfolding with our best intentions in mind. It’s so beautiful.
