As a destination proposal and engagement photographer currently in Alsace, I get to photograph a lot of couples. But Gayelle and Jamil were one of the most affectionate, genuine couples I’ve photographed. And such naturals in front of the camera! Their authenticity in their love and mutual admiration of one another was evident from the first moment I met them.
Having dated for so many years, they are instinctually at-home and comfortable in each others presence, and it showed. I love it when my clients are so warm and affectionate towards one another, as it makes my job as a photographer so much easier. One thing that also makes my job easier is when it’s cold outside. Bring on alllll the CUDDLES! And these two might as well be professional cuddlers because look how precious they are!! They made hugging and swaying around in the cold winter in Alsace France look like the easiest thing in the world.
We wandered through the city, talked and laughed way too much, and I left them off to explore the Christmas – her gazing enthusiastically at her new engagement ring, a look of quiet amazement at her new fiancee for how he pulled off the whole surprise proposal photo session in Alsace.
The one thing that continues to amaze me is the connections I am able to make and keep all because of a camera. I am so exceptionally honored to be photographing these precious moments in time for people. Thank you guys for warming my heart on such a cold December day, this year is going to be the best year yet!
