5 Signs for Finding Home in the World Based on Astrocartography

Astrocartography is the astrology of place. Also called locational astrology, you can use this tool to find the best places in the world for you, for the different areas of life. For example, you can visit a certain location to write a book or find a publisher, meet your partner, fall in love, go to university, find community, get spiritual or physical healing.

There are places in the world that activate certain themes and storylines for us. But as an astrocartographer, a lot of my clients are looking for this one thing: home.

Many of us yearn to find our home in the world. It’s the foundation for everything else in our lives! I share my story using astrocartography and my experience on how I found my home in the world in my other blog post here. And in this blog post I want to share 5 signs for finding home in the world based on your unique astrocartography.

1. Venus or Moon in the 4^th house (or Cancer in the 4^th)

The 4^th house is the house of home, belonging, tradition, family. Not to mention, it’s our personal and private life! Considering we’re talking about the astrology of place, or where to find that feeling of HOME in the world, we want to make sure we take a look at the 4^th house. The 4^th house shows you not only your house or living situation, but how you feel in that area of life. This is where we will need to relocate the chart, in order to get a local street view of the areas of life based on this NEW location! I write more about that in this blog post and youtube vide here! Good signs are seeing Venus or the Moon relocated to the 4^th house, or the 4^th house containing the sign of Cancer.

2. Get Some Ceres Energy

Ceres is the largest asteroid in astrology and it represents the divine feminine, fertility, agriculture (think gardening + cozy cottage energy!) and motherhood. Having some gentle Ceres energy can be wonderful for feeling that softness. And it’s especially good for that home energy. Ceres parans are typically lovely to live on, especially Venus Ceres and Moon Ceres parans.

You can find Ceres parans and ACG lines by easily adding the asteroid Ceres into your Solar Fire. Solar Fire is my go-to astrocartography software. It has everything: geodetic lines, paran lines, local space, Cyclocartography (timing your travels using transits and progressions) and so much more!

3. The ruler of the ascendent is a benefic, in the 5^th or 9^th house

Since starting my astrocartography business in November 2021, I’ve worked with over 1,000 kindred spirits and noticed a very similar thing pop up time and time again. And it’s this: when the ruler of the ascendent is located in the 5th or 9th relocated chart house. The 5th and 9th houses are blessed houses. They are houses of fun, joy, good karma and luck. Even better when the ruler of the ascendent is a benefic – Venus or Jupiter. It’s important to memorize the rulership of the planets. For example, Leo is ruled by the sun. Cancer is ruled by the moon. I go more in depth with this in my locational astrology course.  Here’s an example of my chart when I moved to France; life became a lot easier for me when I left the east coast of the USA. Note that my ascendent is in Pisces and it is ruled by Jupiter, relocated to the 9th house.

4. Trines aspected to the ascendent

Trines are supportive aspects. They are like the best-friend supporting you! When they make an aspect or a relationship to the Ascendent (which is YOU! The self and physical body), they support you. Particularly helpful I’ve noticed for people are Venus, Jupiter and the Moon trining the ascendent. Aspects are not the biggest deal when it comes to locational astrology. We’re already considering so much, including paran lines, local space lines, the main planetary lines, geodetics and the relocated chart. But aspects can show some additional support particularly trines to the ascendent.

5. Get within orb of a feel-good paran.

This may be number 5, but it’s definitely one of the top 3 things to look at in your astrocartography map. Many astrocartographers do not use parans because some softwares don’t have this feature, but let me tell you: it’s imperative that you look at parans. They can make or break a place. Parans, or latitude crossings as they are called on Astro.com’s Astro Click Travel feature, are especially important for determining the energy of place. In fact, I would say it’s just as important as the main planetary lines. It blows my mind that more astrocartographers aren’t talking about these.

So, here’s the goal: we want to either be directly on or within an intense strength of 10 miles of a supportive parans. The orb of influence for paran lines are 70 miles.
