The Canon 6D is my one and only camera. I only need one in life, and it makes traveling simpler and more convenient for me.  When choosing a camera, I spent many weeks eyeing both the Canon 6D and the 5Dmk3. I love the Canon 6D above all other cameras. This camera is substantially cheaper, has a lighter-weight body and a built-in wifi feature, so it’s very easy for me to download my photos onto my phone to post on social media (gotta keep up the Instagram game…). This full-frame camera is super similar in picture quality and low-light performance to the 5Dmk3. I’m giddy for it! 🙂

My go-to lens for travel and landscape shots, the 24-70mm f/2.8 is sharp and has a zoom range that is perfect for my daily travel shots. Now this is a more expensive lens than my other two prime lenses – approximately $2,000, so it took a long time for me to save up and splurge on it, but this is a lens you’ll need if you want both wide shots and zoomed in close. It’s versatile.

Cheap, light, and a low f-stop that makes glorious blurred background portraits & a sharp foreground, this was my favorite lens before I invested in my 85 mm 1.4. This lens is also great in low-light settings and it works out well for nearly every type of portrait shot (full length, three quarters, head/shoulders and upper body, and just head and shoulders.). This is a typical go-to lens for a lot of photographers.

When you want a tighter shot, or you want to really throw the background of your image out of focus then this is the lens to use. I use this lens for the majority of my people & wildlife portraits. The crispness is just gorgeous and the shallow depth of field can’t be better.

I always shoot portraits of people and wildlife with my prime lenses, as opposed to my zoom 24-70mm f/2.8. I find that I can’t get the same crispness from those lens that I could with primes. My prime lenses are always a tad sharper. I also love the wider apertures (f/1.4 to f/1.8), as they allow me to shoot images with very shallow depth of field and the background and foreground blur out of focus wonderfully, making the subject really pop.
