I'm a writer, Youtuber, photographer. and old-fashioned romantic in love with celebrating the simple joys of daily life. I appreciate timelessness, the natural world, and a slow life lived with simplicity and intention. When I'm not photographing families or  slowly traveling the world and writing about it in a little notebook, I'm happily grounding myself in nature and cozying up with my sweet husband.

I’m not an expert in health or wellness, but I love to share what it working for me in my personal life, in hopes that it may help you! In my past post on Primally Pure’s natural products, I wrote the best products to use for pregnant moms-to-be here!

We all have our own insecurities, and my personal body insecurity is my early signs of aging.

I’ve noticed the soft lines on my forehead and around my eyes deepen over the years, and I’ve tried many different moistrizers and drunken quarts of water to combat it.

It wasn’t until I discovered this secret skincare weapon that you probably haven’t heard of yet: facial serums.

Kate at the Foundation Blog, does a much better job at explaining what is a serum and how it is used, so please pop op over to her post here to read about why serums are good for you!

In addition, I’m sharing what I personally use in my daily skincare routine with Primally Pure and how I’ve helped my fine lines diminish and my dark acne spots fade and disappear!

My All Natural NonToxic Facial Routine with Primally Pure

Newborn, family and children's photographer, Helena Woods, shares the BEST All Natural Non-Toxic Skincare Products for Pregnant Moms Primally Pure

First: Natural Cleanser

Primally Pure offers these oil cleansers for normal, oily and dry skin. I use the cleanser for normal skin, and while I did break out and get a few more pimples than usual my first month using this, it’s totally worth it in the long-term. My skin has gone back to normal, and my nightly facial routine has gotten so much fun!

I add a few drops to my palms, lather onto my facial in upward movements, put a steaming hot washcloth in the microwave for 30 seconds and then lay it on my face – taking a few minutes each day to give my face the spa treatment it deserves. Then, I just wash off any extra impurities and voila – all done! The smells from this cleanser are pure, magical and smell like natural flowers, and my face always feels like a baby’s bottom when I’m finished.

Second Step: Facial Serum – My Secret Weapon

The most expensive of the three products I use, and my personal favorite: Primally pure’s Plumping serum helps me combat the wrinkles, softens fine lines (I am extremely expressive) and firms and plumps my skin.

I don’t have many deep-set wrinkles yet…but trust me, I see fine-lines forming a little more year by year. But in the last year, my dark acne marks and fine lines have reduced drastically, and I’m blaming it on this bad boy: the facial serum!

Plumping Serum (wrinkles) and Fancy Face Serum

Why Helena Woods uses Primally Pure Natural Plumping Facial Serum

Before the Plumping Serum came out, I used their Fancy Face serum, and I still use this one on weekends, as I like to alternate.

This little magical glass bottle helps to diminish fine lines, scarring, age spots, and discolorations. As someone who always gets a dark mark that never seems to fade away after a pimple, I’m actually surprised to see my dark marks get light and lighter over the weeks and months since I started using this serum.

How I Use the Serum

After cleansing my face with the natural cleanser, I simply apply 5 drops to my face + neck to transform my skin, naturally!

From brightening the complexion to calming inflammation and increasing collagen levels, these three serums ( Clarifying, Soothing and Plumping) target and treat unique skin needs.

If you want to try these serums or any of Primally Pure’s natural products, use my code HelenaW10 to get 10% off your purchase!

The Key with Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Start Early

Our face is our first impression onto the world (smile!), and I know my 70-year-old self will thank me for treating my skin to these naturally, moisturizing and healing potent ingredients in my younger years.

If You’re Pregnant…

Just so you know….if you’re pregnant, Primally pure has on their website a lil tidbit for ya:

Our pregnancy/breastfeeding formula is made without neem oil, thyme essential oil, cypress essential oil, and carrot seed essential oil.”

The Ingredients…

Ingredients are rich in vitamins and antioxidants including Astaxanthin, Green Coffee Oil and Prickly Pear Seed Oil.

Final Step: Lock That Moisture In!

Palmarosa + Mint Beauty Cream

This 5-ingredient Palmarosa + Mint Beauty Cream contains a beautifying blend of fats and organic plant oils that work together to

  • deeply nourishes the skin
  • diminishes fine lines
  • reduces signs of aging without clogging pores.

I love this beauty cream and use it as my final step every night. It really locks in the moisture from the serum and keeps it all in place. I also actually don’t need to wash my face in the mornings anymore since I started using this nightly facial regime (before I would break out if I didn’t cleanse twice a day…) which is an added bonus since I discovered my love for this all-natural skincare company.

After using their all natural facial products for the last year, I just love this company and their products so much. They really promote health and vitality instead of taking away from it, and their values of simplicity and integrity are values I can really get behind. Nature is smarter than science, that’s for sure!
